Action Fence Company of Chattanooga installs and repairs wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link fences and gates for homes in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and North Georgia, and has since 1981. Most residential jobs take about two days on site once materials are in.

Why Do Homeowners Put Up a Fence?

The reasons we hear most are a new furry friend, privacy and security, a new family member, a swimming pool, and nosey neighbors. The reason, the lot, and your budget decide the material and the style.

We've been fencing homes here for 45 years, so we've installed fences in virtually every neighborhood in the area, from Hixson and Soddy-Daisy to the subdivisions of Ooltewah and East Brainerd.

How Does a Residential Estimate Work?

One of our fence consultants comes to the house and talks through four things with you: your budget, your design needs, your HOA and local codes, and what you want from the fence long term. Then we suggest products that fit the look and the security you're after, take precise measurements, and give you a formal proposal priced per foot. The estimate is free. Our fence cost guide explains what moves the price.

Privacy, Pets, Pools, and the Front Yard

Wood or vinyl privacy for a backyard you can actually use. Black aluminum or vinyl-coated chain link to keep the dog home without blocking the view, with aluminum puppy pickets for small dogs. Pool fence built to the 48-inch barrier rule with self-closing, self-latching gates. Picket vinyl or ornamental aluminum to finish a front yard. Walk gates and drive gates to match whatever you choose.

Can You Repair My Existing Fence?

Often, yes. If you're not sure whether your fence can be repaired, call us. We repair residential fences and gates, and we replace damaged or worn fences when repair isn't worth it.

How It Works

How a Fence Gets Built

Four steps from the first visit to the last post. Most residential jobs take about two days on site once materials arrive.

  1. 1

    Consultation

We walk the property, talk through what you need, and recommend options that fit your yard and budget.

  2. 2

    Measure and Proposal

A fence consultant takes precise measurements, then presents a formal proposal.

  3. 3

    Materials Ordered

Once you're under contract, materials are bought and shipped to our storage yard in Sale Creek.

  4. 4

    Installed in About Two Days

On install day the crew meets you for a final look at property lines and gate placement, then builds. The average job takes about two days; size and surprises can change that.

Common Questions

Residential Fencing Questions

Something else on your mind? Call (423) 842-8700 and ask.

Do I need to be home during installation?

Not the whole time. On install day the crew meets you for one final look at property lines, gate placement, and any questions you have, then gets to work.

Who marks the property line?

You're responsible for knowing where it is. If you have a survey, we build to it. If you don't, it's worth getting one before a fence goes on a shared line; it costs less than moving a fence.

How is a residential fence priced?

By the foot, plus gates. Material, style, height, and the ground all affect the number. A consultant measures on site and gives you a formal proposal at no charge. See the fence cost guide.

Do you follow HOA rules?

Yes. Your HOA's guidelines and the local codes are part of every residential estimate, and we suggest products that fit them.

Can I finance a backyard fence?

Yes. We offer same-as-cash and fixed-rate financing through our lending partner, subject to credit approval. See the financing page.
