Action Fence Company of Chattanooga is a family-owned fence company in Hixson, Tennessee, founded in 1981. It installs and repairs wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, and farm fence, builds automatic gates, and serves Hamilton County, the Sequatchie Valley, and North Georgia.
Greg Palmer took over Action Fence from his dad in 1985 and has been building fences around Chattanooga ever since. Our crews carry more than 150 years of combined experience, and many of our commercial customers are on their second or third job with us.
We're licensed, insured, and bonded. Materials are staged at our own yard in Sale Creek, so the crew shows up with everything, and most residential jobs are done in about two days.

How a Fence Gets Built
Four steps from the first visit to the last post. Most residential jobs take about two days on site once materials arrive.

Measure and Proposal
A fence consultant takes precise measurements, then presents a formal proposal.

Materials Ordered
Once you're under contract, materials are bought and shipped to our storage yard in Sale Creek.

Installed in About Two Days
On install day the crew meets you for a final look at property lines and gate placement, then builds. The average job takes about two days; size and surprises can change that.

How long has Action Fence been in business?
Since 1981. Greg Palmer's father started the company, and Greg took it over in 1985. That's 45 years of fences around Chattanooga under the same family.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. A fence consultant comes to the property, measures, talks through options, and follows up with a written proposal. No charge and no obligation.
What kinds of fence do you install?
Wood (privacy, semi-privacy, horizontal, lattice top), vinyl (privacy and ranch rail), ornamental aluminum (including pool and pet fence), chain link (galvanized and vinyl-coated), and farm or field fence with rail. We also build automatic gates with operators and access control.
How long does an installation take?
Most residential jobs are finished in about two days once materials are in. Materials are ordered after you sign and shipped to our yard in Sale Creek, so the crew arrives with everything. Large commercial, agricultural, and industrial projects take longer, and we'll give you a realistic schedule up front.
Is there a warranty?
Every installation carries our one-year craftsmanship warranty, and the materials carry their manufacturers' warranties, which vary by product. We've been here since 1981, so you can count on us being around to honor it.
